Introduction to Android App Development

This is a dynamic and intensive hands-on course that uses a tutorial step-by-step approach designed for the novice programmer.

The course assumes little or no prior programming experience and it introduces key programming concepts including variables, decision structures, lists and arrays. The course covers Android features and development environment; the user interface; input variables, and operations; icons and decision making controls; lists, arrays, and web browsers; implementing audio in Android applications. Prerequisites
This course requires general familiarity with computer concepts, an interest in mobile applications, and experience with Android based devices, such as smartphones or tablets.
Requirements
Students will need access to a computer that can be used to install Android Eclipse SDK. Students will also need access to the internet. Students must submit assignments and other work in a PDF file format.

Students can apply for the completion certificate after finishing the class.

Ms Perez has over 30 years experience in information technology and related areas. She has also held numerous computer related academic positions including department chair and professor. She has extensive teaching experience in professional adult training as well as academic graduate and undergraduate settings in both online and in-class formats. Ms. Perez specializes in software applications, database, security and web technology areas.
